1. Donating photos and video of indigenous babywearers.

Thanks for your interest! We are not able to take photos all over the world of all of the babywearing possibilities without help from our friends, and we want to have the means to promote traditional babywearing worldwide in whatever ways may present themselves in the future too.

you'll need to fill out and send in a release form for us to use the photo(s) or video(s)

Photo or Video Release A can be found here.

We especially need photos that are 300 dpi or greater, at the size of 8" by 10", of a quality that they can be printed and look good, although in some cases we may accept a blurred or 'bad' photo if the subject is rare or absolutely enticing, or if the photo is old. Please contact us if you have any doubts about a photo you wish to submit.

More exact requirements for submissions:

If you have digital photos or video, please send them as attachments to an email or by snail mail if you have a CD/DVD. Let us know through our contact form that you want to submit photos.

Photos should optimally be submitted in high-resolution JPG format, in a 2+ MB file size; please send smaller size photos if you only have those.

2. Promoting the organization and our mission involves a few steps.

  • First, Get to Know Us. You'll need to get familiar with our mission, projects and programs so that you can share them with others.
  • Then, model our mission in your own life and engage others in conversations about your choices,
  • Bigger picture: do networking and marketing for Nurturing Across Cultures. If you have talent in these areas or if this is your career path and you want to help us, we need you.
  • We especially need people with experience or expertise in social media and mobile marketing to help us utilize group texting, mobile websites, and smartphone apps to spread the word about Nurturing Across Cultures.

3. Fundraising support may include:

  • People who can engage others one on one on the importance of our mission and our work, and solicit committed individual donors in this way. We have tried-and-true techniques and suggestions; we just need the personnel to make this happen.
  • General fundraising support (development)
  • People who can research what grants may fit with our mission, goals, projects and programs, and outline the requirements and deadlines of such grants so that we can apply for them in a timely manner.
  • people who will write grants for us as an in-kind contribution or someone who will take a portion of the amount received instead of needing to be paid up front
  • People to promote specific avenues of raising funds for our organization, ie. Cars 4 Causes, GoodSearch, etc.

4. Local volunteers in Santa Barbara, CA are needed to:

  • a. help to scan Rebozo Way photo show photos (10x12s) plus many slides and prints, mostly of indigenous women with babies in rebozos.
  • b. check, resize, and adjust color in photos in Photoshop, categorize and make thumbprints of scanned photos
  • c. upload photos onto Nurturing Across Cultures website
  • d. do some touch up editing on video shorts about The Rebozo Way and related topics and post five or fewer video shorts onto youTube. Must have a Mac with Final Cut Pro since this is the format of the videos, except one which is in dvd. These shorts were produced in an old version of Final Cut, and are saved on an external hard drive. We also want links from our site to the shorts on youTube.
  • e. help with local publicity and networking, with sbparent.com, for example, other organizations related to our mission, and people committed to our work.

5. Become an educator (REP--Rebozo Way Educator of Parenting Practices)

We also need a coordinator of our REPs, someone to stay in touch with all of the REPs, maybe checking in once a month or every few months, someone who can give REPs support and resources, and match REPs with other REPs who have a resource or idea, etc. that addresses a need of the first person.

6. Graphic and web design help may entail:

  • a. polishing up our brochures and information sheets, formatting them in a consistent manner, updating name and contact info, and digitalizing them all.
  • b. help to publish our Photo Show photos in a coffee table book, whatever it takes to make that happen, including layout, promotion, finding a publisher or self publishing, etc.
  • c. someone familiar with InDesign to set up our Calendar and other publicity materials

Thank you for anything and everything that you can do!!

Remember you can contact us with questions or to sign up!
